Children
It is okay to bring kids along to the lodge. Kids below the age of 6 are free of charge.

It's safe to bring your children
Backpacks
Do not forget your luggage as it is tortuous to return to the lodge to get the stuff you left
behind. Take care of your own belongings as there is no porter in our lodge. There is a safe
in which we keep the valuables of visitors. You will have to talk to our staff if you want
to utilize the safe, and we do recommend you to do so.

Bonding with Monkeys
Unless you are Dian Fossey, you wouldn’t want to share your private space with the animals.
If you brought snacks, you must make sure that you keep them intact and safe from reach of naughty squirrels.
Make sure you keep your belongings safe and intact from reach of macaques as they are very
inquisitive and they tend to love your flashy bag packs. Monkeys are always on the permanent
lookout for playthings so you need to keep your room locked at all times.

Jungle Trekking Do’s and Don’ts
The whole point of staying at Nature Lodge Kinabatangan is to step out of the lodge and
meet Mother Nature. We have guided trips but you are free to trek on your own anytime,
provided you come back in one piece.
Before you trek, remember 3 things:
- If you reckon your trip will take you an hour, add another hour to that and you are ready to go.
This is to give you leeway for times you spent peeping at wildlife. Then, inform the lodge
manager about your trip and the how long you will be away before you go.
- Please bring plenty of water. You will have to drink a lot, even if you are not
thirsty to prevent dehydration.
- Bring torchlight if you are trekking after 5 p.m. It gets dark by then. Dark,
no street lights, no moon lights. Just dark. So bring your torches.
What to Bring
There are no shops near Nature Lodge Kinabatangan except for The Village Shop, (staff corporation) so
it will be wise for you to bring your peculiar necessities such as your personal preference of cigarette
& etc…
